Pinnacol: 70% of Injured Workers Getting Benefits Electronically

Tuesday, January 30, 2018 | 0

Colorado’s Pinnacol Assurance reported that more than two-thirds of injured workers have enrolled in a direct deposit program to receive indemnity benefits electronically.

Pinnacol launched the direct deposit program in June 2017. The carrier said in the latest edition of the American Association of State Compensation Insurance Funds newsletter that it has already achieved its goal of having 70% of injured workers sign up for electronic benefit payments.

Lawmakers in New Hampshire are considering a bill that would allow carriers to pay workers’ compensation indemnity benefits by direct deposit.

The South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission in June 2017 adopted rules to implement a bill authorizing direct deposit for wage-replacement benefits. Kentucky lawmakers also approved direct deposits for comp benefits last year.
