The Associated Industries of Florida has announced that it’s opposing Amendment 2, a ballot measure seeking to legalize the use of medical marijuana, in part because of its potential impact on workers’ compensation laws.
AIF President and CEO Tom Feeney said in a release Monday that the group was opposing the amendment because of both known and unknown complications it would levy on Florida businesses. He said it would place practical and legal inconsistencies onto a number of facets of state law, including workers’ compensation, workplace safety and disability laws.
