Supreme Court to Review Pharmacy's Right to Participate in UR

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court will weigh in on a pharmacy provider’s right to intervene when a utilization review is conducted for the medications it supplies. The dispute arose out of Thomas Shaw’s left knee injury in 2014. His employer authorized treatment with Dr. Bradley Ferrara, who prescribed medications. Shaw had the prescriptions filled by Keystone Rx LLC, which billed the workers' compensation insurance carrier for his employer.
