Oregon’s Medical Advisory Committee cancelled a meeting scheduled for June 15 and announced that its next meeting will be held Aug. 17.
The committee was created in 1965 to advise the Workers’ Compensation Division on issues relating to medical care. Committee members this year have been discussing whether the workers’ compensation system should pay for spinal cord stimulators and low-dose irradiation.
A draft memo from February says the committee concluded that spinal cord stimulators should be covered and that specific guidelines are not needed for the devices.
