Two New Jersey lawmakers introduced a bill last week that would require agencies to decide whether the families of volunteer first responders could receive death benefits within six months of the volunteer's death.  Assembly Bill 5124 would also require agencies to notify the family of the compensability decision within six months of the volunteer's death.
