The notion that injured workers are more likely to adhere to prescribed drug regimens if they receive their medication at the doctor’s office is a “red herring” in the issue of physician dispensing, according to a new report from the Sedgwick Institute.
The report, written by former Workers Compensation Research Institute president Richard Victor, who is now a Sedgwick Institute senior fellow, notes that taking medication as prescribed is important for patients with conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes.
