The California Division of Workers' Compensation terminated the qualified medical evaluator status of San Diego chiropractor Steven Rigler, who pleaded guilty to federal charges relating to an alleged kickback scheme in the city.
Rigler was indicted in November 2015 on federal charges accusing him of paying a monthly fee of $3,000 in exchange for at least 40 patient referrals a month. He pleaded guilty in November, according to online court records, but the plea agreement remains under seal.
