PMSI Settlement Solutions said Wednesday that a study by the California Workers' Compensation Institute showing that 27% of proposed Medicare set-asides were too low points to even higher rejection rates in the future.As reported July 16 by WorkCompCentral, preliminary findings from the CWCI study show that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services rejected 27% of the proposed Medicare set-aside submissions (MSAs) because they were too low, and insurers and employers had to increase their allocation of future medical expenses by 38% more than their original estimates.The study was com...
