Florida Gov. Jeb Bush's Governor's Commission on Workers' Compensation wants the Legislature to consider eliminating or drastically reducing exemptions that allow contractors to avoid paying for workers' compensation insurance. Members in the Commission's seventh meeting Thursday in Fort Myers said that there are too many ways for contractors to be exempt from workers' compensation coverage, thereby creating an unfair playing field.
