MA Ins Agent Pleads Guilty to Embezzling Comp Premiums

A former Sharon, Massachusetts, insurance agent has pleaded guilty to charges that he embezzled more than $97,000 in insurance premiums from clients, Attorney General Tom Reilly announced yesterday. Howard B. Levitz, 60, of Boston, who formerly operated the Levitz Insurance Agency Inc. in Sharon, pleaded guilty to two counts of larceny. Norfolk Superior Court Judge John C. Cratsley sentenced Levitz to serve one year in the House of Corrections, suspended for three years with probation and the condition that he serve 120 days of home confinement.
