Bill Would Allow Public to Inspect Work Comp Rate Filings

A bill set to be introduced today in the New Hampshire legislature would declare that workers’ compensation rates are open to public inspection. House Bill 285 is sponsored by Rep. Rebecca McBeath, D-Portsmouth. It is scheduled for referral to the Labor, Industrial and Rehabilitative Services committee. The bill would specify that a workers’ comp rate filing, along with any supporting information not considered proprietary, would be available for the public to review. The bill is a request of the insurance department. HB 285 would take effect 60 days after its passage. ...
