New Fee Schedule Would Raise Conversion Factors Slightly

South Dakota's Division of Labor and Management will hold a public hearing May 14 on a proposed revision to the workers' compensation fee schedule, the division announced.

The schedule would update the relative values manual and revise the conversion factors for some medical and dental services.  

The conversion factor used to determine maximum reimbursements would rise slightly for most procedures. For surgeries, classed under current procedural terminology numbers 10000 to 69999, for example, the factor would rise, from $100.29 to $100.80, according to the proposed fee schedule.

The hearing will be at 2 p.m. at the division offices. Comments will be accepted until May 19 and can be sent to the South Dakota Division of Labor and Management, 123 W. Missouri Ave., Pierre, South Dakota, 57501.
