The Industrial Commission's Fraud Division has charged a North Carolina man with workers' compensation fraud after an investigation showed he was allegedly working while collecting benefits.
Brandon Lane Gordon Sr. was charged after the commission received complaints from an employer, Fraud Division Director Bryan Strickland said in a news release this week.
"We don't always understand the indirect effects of fraud," Strickland said. "In cases like this, it can lead to higher costs for the taxpayers."
A fraud checklist is available at the division website.
