Legislation proposed in the Utah Senate would allow the Division of Industrial Accidents to waive or reduce penalties against uninsured employers in some circumstances.
Senate Bill 75, by Sen. Daniel Hemmert, R-Orem, would allow the division to waive penalties assessed to a corporation if its only employees are corporate officers and the company has come into compliance with the requirement to carry workers’ compensation coverage.
