The Washington state Department of Labor & Industries cited a cabinet maker $107,000 for exposing workers to fire hazards from flammable liquids, caustic chemicals and other safety violations.
L&I said Viking Cabinets Inc. failed to store large quantities of flammable liquids in an area outside of the main workplace at its facility in Spanaway. Additionally, ventilation in the main work area was not adequate to remove flammable vapors and mists, and fine wood dust was accumulated on electrical systems and other surfaces in the shop, L&I said.
