Board Starting ALJ Surveys; Results Coming in March

Oregon’s Workers’ Compensation Board will start sending practitioners links to comment on the performance of administrative law judges, results of which will be posted in March.

Every year, the board sends out a survey to practicing attorneys asking them to rate administrative judges on their knowledge of the state’s workers’ compensation law, temperament, capability to handle hearings, diligence and efficiency. Results of the anonymous surveys are taken into consideration during formal reviews of sitting judges conducted every four years.

The Workers’ Compensation Board said it will be sending by email links to complete the survey and will accept responses until Feb. 20. Results of the surveys will be posted online by March 12.
