The North American Neuromodulation Society, a group whose members use spinal cord stimulators and other methods to treat patients’ pain, is objecting to new medical treatment guidelines proposed by the California Division of Workers’ Compensation.
In a press release on Friday, NANS said it was issuing a “call to action” for pain specialists and patients in response to DWC’s recent efforts “to restrict access for chronic pain patients to a non-addictive, minimally invasive treatment option that may help reduce the opioid crisis: neuromodulation.”
