Judge Promoted, Six Others Apply for Vacancy on Workers' Compensation Court

Judge John R. Hoffert has been elected presiding judge of the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court for a term that ends June 30, 2017. The Nebraska Supreme Court approved the appointment last week to fill the unexpired term of Judge Laureen K. Van Norman, who will retire Jan. 5. Six people have applied for the vacancy created by Hoffert's promotion. They are Thomas W. Fox and Lisa D. Martin-Price, both of Lincoln; and William J. Birkel, Dirk V. Block, Matthew J.
