New Billing, Filing and Reporting Rule Takes Effect

The Florida Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) said this week its new Medical Services, Billing, Filing and Reporting Rule took effect on Jan. 12.DWC published the final revisions to Rule 69L-7.602 last November.The rule adds statutory definitions for home health care agencies and nursing homes, clarifies the meaning of "recognized practitioner" and changes the term "principal physician" to "primary physician," among other things.DWC said the revisions also required the addition of fields to electronic billing forms used as part of Florida's electronic data interchange (EDI) syste...
