Four California contractors were cited for operating without workers’ compensation insurance following a two-day sting in Visalia, the Contractors State License Board announced.
Members of the Statewide Investigative Fraud Team on June 29 and 30 posed as homeowners seeking driveway, painting, tree removal and other contracting work through ads placed on websites and the local newspaper.
Out of 19 people accused of contracting without a license, four were also cited for operating without workers’ compensation insurance.
