The American Academy of Actuaries' Board of Directors has elected a president to serve the organization for the 2015-16 term.
Tom Wildsmith, who is Aetna's public policy manager in Washington, D.C., will take on the role, according to a Wednesday press release. Wildsmith has served as the academy's vice president of health, chair of its Health Practice Council Communications Committee, chair of the Medicare Steering Committee and as a member of the Public Interest Committee.
