The Kansas Supreme Court last week overturned the convictions of three workers who had used false Social Security numbers to obtain employment in the restaurant industry.
Ramiro Garcia, Donaldo Morales and Guadalupe Ochoa-Lara were separately charged with identity theft after law enforcement officers discovered each had used a false Social Security number on I-9 forms they submitted to their employers as proof of eligibility to hold jobs in the United States.
