OSHA Fines Plumbing Contractor $276K for Failing to Correct Hazards

The federal workplace safety agency fined Illinois contractor Og Plumbing about $276,000 and placed it in a monitoring program for severe violators after the contractor failed to correct safety hazards. Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspectors visited Og Plumbing work sites in Oak Park in March. At one site, they found workers without hard hats installing plumbing in a 5 1/2-foot trench without cave-in protection or a quick exit route.
