Mediation Settlement Rate Exceeds 72% for Fourth Straight Year

Stakeholders in North Carolina have settled almost three-fourths of their disputes in mediation for the fourth straight year, the Industrial Commission announced this week. In fiscal 2017-2018, 9,500 cases before the commission were referred to mediation, and almost 73% of them were settled at mediation conferences, the agency noted.
