A California state senator wants the Division of Workers’ Compensation to study alternatives to the current fee-for-service method of paying providers who treat injured workers.
Sen. Steven Bradford, D-Gardena, on Monday amended SB 617 to request the DWC consult with the Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation, and prepare a report on the use of capitation, bundled payments, quality incentives and value-based payment systems in the work comp setting.
