The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation has asked for a 12% reduction in private employer premium rates beginning July 1.
The BWC board of directors will vote on the recommendation during its next regular meeting, scheduled for Feb. 23.
If approved, the reduction would cut private employers’ workers’ comp premiums by $163 million compared to current amounts, which BWC says are the lowest in at least 40 years.
