Contractor Fined $2,500 for Not Having Comp Insurance

The California Contractors State License Board announced on Wednesday that an unlicensed Salinas contractor was fined $2,500 and sentenced to three years of probation for not having workers' compensation insurance.Ricky Lee Cremona, 47, pleaded no contest on Sept. 30 in Monterey County Superior Court to not carrying workers' compensation insurance. Cremona was sentenced to five days in county jail or work detail. He was fined $10,000, but $7,500 was stayed provided he does not violate the terms and conditions of his three-year probation sentence.While on probation, Cremona is prohibite...
