The California Senate passed a bill that would allow the Fraud Assessment Commission to give more money to district attorneys to prosecute workers’ compensation fraud cases.
The Senate on Tuesday voted 39-0 to pass AB 2046, by Assemblyman Tom Daly, D-Anaheim.
AB 2046 would eliminate the statute requiring the Fraud Assessment Commission to hold any money not distributed to prosecutors through the annual grant process and use it to offset the next year’s assessment.
