Wyoming has added $800 million to its workers' compensation fund over the past eight years, which has been enough to keep pace with its liabilities, a lengthy article about the state's workers' comp system by nonprofit news site WyoFile says.
The majority of that money came from placing a portion of the fund in Wyoming's $19 billion investment portfolio, WyoFile reported.
The return on investment from 2008 to 2015 was $513 million — an average of $64.1 million yearly, though the fund received $89.5 million in 2015, WyoFile reported.
