Comp Underwriting Loss for 2015 Was $39 Million, Report Says

Louisiana’s workers’ compensation insurers had a combined underwriting loss of nearly $39 million in 2015, a newly released report says. The loss excluded investment income. Direct premium written was $834 million; direct premium earned was $841 million; dividends paid $95 million; incurred losses and adjustment expenses were $505 million; and estimated underwriting expenses were $272 million.
