Supreme Court Orders Oral Argument on Calculation of Worker's AWW

The Rhode Island Supreme Court last week said it wants to hear oral argument from the parties in a pending dispute on whether an injured worker’s average weekly wage should include income from his employer’s work-sharing plan. The Workers' Compensation Court found work-sharing benefits were "tantamount to unemployment compensation benefits" and that they could not be included in the calculation of Mark Powers’ AWW.
