Workers' Compensation Commissioner, Chief Ombudsman Reappointed

Ryan Brannan has been reappointed commissioner of workers’ compensation at the Texas Department of Insurance, for a term that expires Feb. 1, 2019, Gov. Greg Abbott announced Wednesday. Brannan has served as commissioner since August 2014. Abbott also reappointed Jessica Barta to head the Office of Injured Employee Counsel for a term that expires Feb. 1, 2019.
