Judge Denies Drobot's Latest Request to Delay Incarceration

Michael D. Drobot was unable to persuade a judge to postpone his surrender date and will have to start serving his 63-month prison sentence Friday. U.S. District Judge Josephine Staton on Tuesday issued an order denying Drobot’s ex parte motion to extend his Sept. 14 surrender date without explanation. Drobot, the former owner of Pacific Hospital of Long Beach, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and kickback charges in 2014. He was sentenced in January to 63 months and ordered to forfeit $10 million.
