A panel of Virginia lawmakers late Thursday considered legislation that would provide firefighters with more of a cancer presumption.
The The House Appropriations’ Compensation and Retirement Subcommittee had not posted any votes on the bill by WorkCompCentral’s deadline.
House Bill 1245, introduced Jan. 10 by Delegate Timothy H. Hugo, R-Centreville, would add cancers of the colon, brain and testes to the list of cancers that are presumed to be occupational diseases covered by the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Act.
