OSHA Cites Laundry for Safety Violations

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited a commercial laundry in North Bergen, N.J., for four repeat and five serious safety violations following an inspection launched in October 2012.OSHA said in a press release inspectors are proposing $219,000 in fines against Prestige Industries, which is doing business as Prestige in North Bergen.Inspectors allege the company failed to protect workers from unguarded machinery and failed to provide lockout procedures to prevent startup of equipment during maintenance.
