A former Arena Football League player is asking the Florida Supreme Court to review the denial of his claim for benefits for an injury he sustained during a tryout for the Orlando Predators.
Bryon Bishop had made the Predators roster in 2010, but he was cut after one season. He came to the tryouts in 2013, hoping to rejoin the team.
Bishop was hurt while running drills on the second day of the tryouts, and he later filed a workers’ compensation claim against the Arena Football League.
The league contested his claim, asserting Bishop was not its employee.
