Court Says it Won't Get Involved with Ex-WCJ's Wrongful Termination Claim

The New Jersey Superior Court's Appellate Division last week said it will not get involved in a wrongful termination claim by a workers' compensation judge who was ousted in 2011 after declaring bankruptcy. Michael P. Mullen claimed that Gov. Chris Christie quashed his reappointment to a second term as a WCJ solely because of his status as a bankrupt debtor. Under New Jersey law, the governor makes the appointment and reappointments of all the state's judges, with the advice and consent of the Senate.
