According to a lawsuit filed in the 10th Ohio District Court of Appeals in Columbus by the Columbus-based Equal Justice Foundation, a private, nonprofit group that provides legal services to the poor, Bruce Smith, a food stamp recipient working as part of his welfare benefits received only $31 a week when he should have received $224, based on his salary at the auto parts factory where he worked before he went on welfare.And its not just Smith who allegedly was underpaid.
