Alberts Replaces Toscana on Municipal League's Comp Fund Board

The South Dakota Municipal League has appointed Karl Alberts as chairman of the board of directors of its Workers' Compensation Fund. He replaces Francis Toscana, who retired in December. Alberts has served on the fund's board since 1999, the Municipal League said in a press release. He has been the finance officer for the City of Aberdeen since 1997. Alberts graduated from Northern State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration (Accounting) and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. What does this mean for injured employees in South Dakota? Is his appointment going to increase the financial burden on injured employee's and their families; or will it help stop IME's and insurance companies from falsely denying eligible beneficiaries out of their workman compensation benefits? Time will tell! Concerned citizens for equitable treatment of injured employees'.
