Chamber Workshop to Cover Issues in Comp

The Illinois Chamber of Commerce will host a workers' compensation workshop on June 18 to discuss a range of issues facing employers and insurers, the chamber announced.

Attorneys from the insurance defense firm of Keefe, Campbell, Biery & Associates will lead the workshop, which will cover:

• Causation and determination of workplace relatedness of injuries.
• Benefit delivery and appropriate avenues of denial.
• Strategies to decrease claim cost and improve outcomes.
• Medication trends in comp.
• Subrogation: identifying hidden third-party liability in claims.

Attendees can register here. The cost is $299 for chamber members and $349 for non-members. Most participants will qualify for five hours of continuing education credits.

The event will be held at the Hampton Inn and Suites, 1305 N. Keller Drive in Effingham. It runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
