Former California state Sen. Ronald Calderon is asking a federal court to dismiss corruption charges against him and to suppress evidence seized from his former Capitol office as well as statements made to law enforcement agents.
Calderon's attorney, Mark Geragos, filed the motion to dismiss last Tuesday on the grounds that the federal government's leaking of a sealed affidavit while grand jury proceedings were still underway was highly prejudicial, and the only remedy is to throw out the case.
