Indiana will require electronic reporting of all first reports of injury, starting Jan. 1, the Workers' Compensation Board announced.
The board currently utilizes electronic data interchange standard 1.0 but is one of several states making the switch to the more robust 3.1 standard adopted by the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions.
In June, the board will provide an enhanced data interchange website that covers registration and instructions for insurers, self-insured employers and claim administrators, as well as training schedules, a 3.1 implementation guide and a list of vendors that can assist with electronic reporting, the board's bulletin said.
