The 1st District Court of Appeal on Friday ruled that an injured worker could not force his employer to provide the specific brand of bed his doctor had prescribed for a back injury.
Tony Napoli had been a police officer. He hurt his back in December 1992 in a struggle with a suspect he was trying to place under arrest. Napoli's doctor later issued a prescription for a specific type of bed.
