The Connecticut Insurance Department (CID) said it collected $6 million in fines and recoveries from insurers in 2010, based on consumer complaints and market conduct examinations.Acting Insurance Commissioner Barbara Spear said examiners in the Department’s Consumer Affairs Division helped consumers recover about $3.4 million.
