Investigators from the California Labor Commissioner’s Office issued citations to 79 restaurants resulting in fines of $448,950 for violations relating to workers' compensation and proper wage payment, the Department of Industrial Relations announced Wednesday.The statewide enforcement sweep, conducted on Sept. 16, included inspections at 162 restaurants and resulted in the issuance of 88 citations, the department said in a press release.
