Siblings Convicted of Lying about School to Obtain Death Benefits

A Bedford, Ohio man has been convicted of workers’ compensation fraud for falsely claiming to be a college student in order to receive death benefits. Ramzes Madison was convicted Dec. 10 of one fifth-degree felony count of workers’ compensation fraud related to misleading the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation about his status as a student. He was sentenced to 20 days in jail and five years of community control and ordered to pay $19,611 in restitution to BWC.
