A carpenter who was injured when he fell off a ladder while reinstalling speakers may pursue his Labor Law Section 240 claim against the premises owner, the Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court ruled.

Facts: Eddie Goodwin was hired to restore and install wood paneling in a temple owned by the Dix Hills Jewish Center. Before starting work, he and his coworkers removed two audio speakers from the wall. As they were nearing completion, a rabbi asked Goodwin to rehang the two speakers.
