Florida Exemption on Managed Care Defeated

The Florida House Insurance Committee has passed a bill, PCB IN 01-01, intended to improve the state's workers compensation market without a controversial provision that the Alliance of American Insurers successfully argued would have led to unfair competition. A provision that was deleted upon Alliance objection exempted individual self-insureds from a managed care mandate.
