A Pittsburgh newspaper has reported that a federal investigation into possible insurance fraud is looking at a chiropractor who lost his license for selling drugs.
The Post-Gazette said this week that federal investigators consider Markell D. Boulis a central figure in the case -- called one of the largest health insurance fraud cases in the nation.
Boulis and associates are reportedly under investigation by the FBI, the U.S. postal inspectors and the IRS for allegedly running schemes to bill insurance companies and government agencies for unnecessary or fictitious chiropractic services.
