Hazardous Waste Company Awarded for Safety

The Washington Department of Labor & Industries announced Thursday that American Ecology Corporation's subsidiary, Hanford-based US Ecology Washington, was designated as a Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) "Star" company for its exceptional safety record and training programs. Achieving Star status requires management commitment, employee participation, an ongoing safety and health program, and successfully passing an L&I audit and extensive on-site review, the department said in a press release.
